WW Peony Charm
Peony is a beautiful black greyhound with four little white socks that seem to glow in the dark when she is outside in the nighttime. She is as sweet as they come. When she first arrived, she was a little timid and looked to the other dogs for cues on what she was supposed to be doing, but she quickly gained confidence in her new surroundings. She is the first “Watch Greyhound” we have had, as her first reaction is to bark at strange people and sounds. It’s an alarm bark, followed by her running and hiding, then coming back to bark once more. Although she sounds intimidating in those instances, she does not have an aggressive bone in her body.
Peony is very sweet and happy. She gets excited quickly. She is affectionate and seeks attention, especially when the other dogs are getting petted. She LOVES to play with toys, and she enjoys prancing around with them from room to room. She will collect all toys into one area, but she has no problem giving them up when we want to pick them up and put them away. She’s been quick to learn and is obedient when told No. She corrects easily, and her sensitive nature shows when she pouts in apology after doing something we tell her to stop doing…which is rare, because she is such a good dog.
Peony handles the steps with ease, making it to the second floor in about three bounds. She is also confident coming down. She’s very much a shadow dog and wants to be around people whenever possible. She lays down pretty quickly in the car and travels well. Her prey drive is pretty high, and she has strong reactions to squirrels. She is highly interested in other dogs that are walking and sometimes barks, but usually just looks and ignores them. Peony is always up for a walk, but she is just as content being in the room with you and laying on her pillow.
Peony’s sweet personality and ability to adapt to her surroundings will make her a great companion.
