AHK Goldie Girl
Goldie is an absolute sweetheart with an affectionate but yet playful personality. She is a real beauty too with a glossy black coat and big ears that look like she could take off like the “Flying Nun”. She loves going on walks and car rides and has just realized that stuffed toys with squeakers are loads of fun to play with. She eats well although she gets distracted easily from her meals. This will certainly change as she learns she’s not missing anything when you leave the kitchen! She sleeps through the night uncrated with no issues but she’s not particularly fond of being alone crated during the day – but is getting better each and every day. Currently someone is letting her out around mid-day but we are working on extending her time alone. Goldie has not been formally introduced to other dogs yet although she’s been to the Farmers Market where she sniffed quite a few doggie butts. She’s still a little shy around strangers and loud noises tend to startle her. It’s something we’re working on every day and she has made great progress.
All in all, Goldie is just starting to blossom in the home environment and will no doubt make someone a great friend and companion. She graduated from the T.G.I.E. program on September 18 and already knows all of her commands.
“Hi, my name is Goldie and I don’t mean to brag but people have called me beautiful because of my glossy black coat. I am still a little shy so it may take a little time to warm up to you. But once I’ve gotten to know you, I can be quite affectionate and playful. Although I think it would be nice to have company during the day, I have routinely gone up to 11 hours by myself without getting into trouble or having an accident. I love going on walks and car rides. So much so that if I hear the car/house keys jingling, I’ll come running. So if you’re looking for a quiet, loving, laid back girl to keep you company, please keep me in mind.”
