Apples is a wonderful petite little girl. She has settled in very quickly to our routine at our house. She isn’t shy at all, and loves to show off her tricks she learned through the TGIE prison program. She knows the “sit pretty” and “wave” command very well! Weighing in at only 55 lbs, don’t let her size fool you! She can keep up with the 80lb boys no problem and holds her own for playtime.
We have two cats, and Apples is interested in the cats, but in a playful way. We trust her unmuzzled with supervision. She likes to whine at them and wag her tail, but if they hiss at her she will back off and run away. She can also be called off from trying to play with them with a firm “no.”
She hasn’t had any accidents in the house and will whine when she has to go. She sleeps through the night without a peep in a dog bed next to our bed. She is curious when we move around the house, but also has an independent side where she will explore on her own. She is undeterred with the cold weather and is happy to hang out and explore the backyard. She is a great walker and walks at your pace with no pulling.
Apples gets a little anxious when we leave. She will whine and bark in her crate for 10-15 minutes. She doesn’t have accidents or try to break out, but today she did chew up a corner of the crate bed. We will keep working with alone training with her and think this is something she will overcome easily.
She has a great appetite, and loves to show her tricks for treats. She likes to play with all types of toys and is pretty gentle with them so far. She does great on car rides and just curls up in the backseat until we get to the destination. She is also awesome for baths and nail grindings. She loves to meet new people, including kids. Apples will make an awesome greyhound for any family!
