Frankie is slowly but surely taking positive steps toward becoming a little less shy and gradually gaining confidence. He is a very sweet black beauty with not a single aggressive bone in his body. With time, he will be perfect for a loving and tolerant family that is willing to be exceptionally patient with him as his personality comes to the surface. He shows minimal to zero interest in the cat and would probably do best as the only dog in the house. He is slowly learning to socialize with the other greys but defers to them in the pecking order. He does love to be around people and doesn’t do well crated. On the few occasions that we attempted to crate him he has soulfully cried the entire time.
Frankie loves his walks and does very well on lead. He’ll walk with you and do his business with encouragement. He responds very well to soft and loving tone of voice and doesn’t do well with raised voices. Because of his shyness and little confidence, we haven’t attempted the stairs yet but he’s so smart that once he gains trust in his people, he will do well. He likes his stuffies and will occasionally play with his tennis ball in the back yard. Every day he improves and gains confidence but with him I think consistency is the key. He seems to gain trust in women faster than men but once he trusts any person he is a joy..
