Jnb Not Real

 Rainbow Bridge /

Bonz, as he’s affectionately known, is a fantastic dark brindle boy who just loves to snuggle. He’s pictured above in our hotel room the night before we brought him and the rest of our latest GEM’s from Wisconsin. Bonz is very sweet, and likes everyone, he would probably be good with kids and really enjoys getting cuddled. Bonz passes his small dog and cat test with flying colors and will be getting his vet work done on 2/15/01.

Bonz has been adopted by the Ellert family. He is sharing his new home with two children Joseph & Ashley, a parakeet and a cat. Lucky boy Bonz, congratulations!!

After nearly two years of mysterious illness that finally manifested in a suspected tumor of the sinus area and a weight loss of over half his weight, our dear Bonz (aka JNB Not-Real) passed away quietly on July 23, 2009. We were amazed at his resilience throughout the twists and turns of the illness and we attribute it to his natural stubborn character as well as his love of Milk Bones and licking out the nightly ice cream dish. He also loved to go for long walks and always resisted the point at which we would have to turn to head home. So much so that Fred would spin him in a circle to disorient him; otherwise he would have to be dragged for a few yards he wanted so much to walk on! He was a good dog and we loved him very much and we want to thank all those at GEM who brought him to us and allowed us to have him as our pet. Bonz was one of the first GEMS some of you will remember. We got him after the original dog we had picked (Vic) became the first GEM to pass away quite unexpectedly after his surgery. Some of you will remember that sad event of GEM history. Bonz is survived by his bloodline cousin and adopted brother Pogo who continues to bring great humor to our lives. Pogo too is getting slower but is happy now to take over the ice cream dishes that Bonz always seemed to bully him out of. The house is quiet now since Bonz loved to bark at weird stuff; rawhides, food and anyone who looked at his food or rawhides and at us if we were too slow to get dessert in the evening. But now the cat food is safe and the trash (aka toy-box) can be left unlocked. While the cat still runs things Pogo’s status has kicked up a notch.
