Pat C Road Racen
Pat C Road Racen, aka Roady, is the most adorable red male, weighing just shy of 80lbs. He is new to GEM as of 11/19/16.
Roady is just a fabulous guy who has an amazingly sweet temperament. His main priority is to be your best friend! He enjoys meeting new people, does well on a leash, and even does great in the car. Grooming and nail trimming are also a breeze. Roady is doing excellent with house training and has not had any accidents in the house. He has also gone to the door or whimpered a few times when he needs to go out. When coming back inside, he waits perfectly for you to enter first, and then follows in after.
Roady has adjusted quickly to indoor living and doesn’t seem phased by the normal everyday sounds that one would encounter (blenders, sink, drawers closing, etc.). He loves food and is not a picky eater. He will need to continue to work on slowing down a bit when he eats, but has not shown any food aggression, even when frequently pet and rubbed while eating. He has also learned that when a person sits down to eat, he can come to smell, but when told no, he should walk away. He really is a smart guy!
Roady does prefer to lounge around on dog beds in the house, rather than his crate. He can be gently guided to go into his crate and he will settle in quickly. Only at night will he let out a few whimpers or barks, but he settles quickly when ignored or told no. During the day, he crates perfectly.
Roady is currently living with another large dog and 2 cats. He is great with the other dog, and has just starting to try to play with him a little. Roady will roll around on the floor, tail wagging, long legs flapping in the air, all while flaunting his pretty belly to the other resident dog. In time, he will likely become more playful with other dogs, but he just learning what this dog is all about. Roady does show some playful interest in the kitties and would do best in a home without cats. Other than that, he is an excellent guy just looking for adopter to snuggle for the holidays.
