Update on Ellie:

Just wanted to update you on Ely’s progress. She is very good at all of her tasks that she was trained for, and she loves performing. Very food driven when it comes to treats. She has proven to be very cat workable. One of our cats is brave enough to come and go and sit in the same room with her, and if Ely shows any interest we give her a firm no. She has not gone after the cat in any way since that first incident. She is super smart and attentive, and she is starting to get acclimated to the house and the life of leisure. She has a very happy demeanor…in fact, when she sleeps it looks like she’s smiling because her mouth doesn’t close all the way. She gets along great with Cooper and was very distressed the other day when Cooper tore out one of his dew claw nails…lots of blood and a trip to the vet…she was out of sorts until Cooper returned, and she has been so sweet with him since he returned. Her relationship with Tori is not as strong, but that is more on Tori than Ely. Tori bullies her around by blocking her out with her body and pushing her out of the way when Ely is getting affection and Tori is not. But there is no fighting…just jostling for position.
Ely also did well at the Westland meet and greet. She is a really great greyt. Sweet, smart, and affectionate. Hopefully you will find a great forever home for her soon.
